Shipping times and ordering processes for many of the production companies

Many times, both David and myself are asked "Have you ordered from this company and if so, how long did it take to get your video?". Many times people ask about foreign companies and if there is a long wait involved or if the fact that the company is over seas complicates matters. I've formulated this list below that shows our basic experience with many of the companies. I will keep the details brief and highlight ship times, ease of ordering, and overall experience. Hope you all find this helpful. Remember though, no one is perfect and companies make make mistakes or mess up on orders from time to time, but that doesn't reflect their normal operating performance.

Amateur Spankings: You may order online via their website, which is a quick and painless process. Shipping time is less than a week, and many times is only a few days. I've had no problems in my experience with ordering from Amateur Spankings.

Brooks Applications: This company has an easy to use online basket/shopping cart system on their website and ordering a product is fairly simple. You may also order via telephone, Fax, or print out an online form and mail it in. Shipping time is less than a week, and we've experienced no problems ordering from them.

Cal Star: I haven't ordered from this company in a long time, but from what I can tell from their website you can order one of two ways. There is a form that you type in your information and the names of the titles you want and submit it online. You may also call a toll-free number to place your order. From what I'm told, shipping time is usually less than a week.

Chelsea Phieffer: You have several ordering options with this company. The website has a printable form in which you may mail in, a telephone number in which you may call, and an online ordering form. The online form is fairly simple and easy to understand. Shipping time is usually less than a week. We have not experienced any problems in ordering from this company.

Drop Seats/Bobbie Tawse: This website has an easy to use shopping carts system to order products. While on the item's description page, simply click on the "add to cart" button and then check out when you are finished. Shipping time is usually around a week. No problems experienced with this company.

Dalls Spanks Tiki: This site also has an easy shopping cart ordering system in which the user simply clicks on "add to cart" while on that product's description page. Shipping time is typically less than a week and no problems have been experienced with this company.

Far East Media: Orders may be placed with this company in one of two ways. You may use an online billing company (IBill) to place your order online, or you may use Paypal to pay for your order. For those unfamiliar with Paypal, it's an online 3rd party financial company that is used a lot with transaction on Ebay and other auction websites. Shipping time is approximatley a week or less and no problems were experienced with this company.

Firm Hand: In placing orders with Firm Hand, you may use an online form which is easy to use. Shipping time is usually less than a week and no problems were experienced in ordering from them.

Impressions: Orders may be placed either by an online form or via Paypal.com. Shipping time is generally less than a week, although there have been times of delays due to a large volume of orders during sales. I did experience a problem with them back when they were relatively new. My order took over a month to arrive, but this was not all Impression's fault. They were having problems with their hosting service. I did receive my order with an appology and explaination of the problem.

Janet Beckwith: You have a few choices in ordering options with Janet Beckwith. You may order online via a shopping cart type system, or print out an order form and mail your payment. Shipping time is less than a week and no problems have been experienced with this company.

Moonglow: If you would like to order from this company, you may do so online via a 3rd party company (IBill) or by printing out a form and mailing it in. Moonglow has both a U.S. office and a U.K. office. Most U.S. bound orders ship from their California office and generally reach you within a week. If for some reason they send you an item from England, the shipping time is around 2 weeks, give or take a day or two. We have not experienced any problems in ordering from Moonglow.

Nu-West/Leda: The website features an online store with shopping cart style ordering system. They have discontinued their phone ordering service, but I believe that they will still accept mail order. The online store is easy to navigate, features a search engine, and has a quick check out. Shipping times is usually less than a week. Only problem I ever had was a video that was missing part of the content, which Nu-West replaced very quickly.

Pacific Force: You have several choices when placing an order with Pacific Force. You may place an order online via a shopping cart system, call them, or mail in an order form which you can print out from their website. The online shopping cart is easy to use and gives you a unique user name and password to keep track of your orders. You can expect to receive your order in less than a week. We have not experienced any problems with this company, although I did hear from a reader who did have a problem with this order that was resolved by Pacific Force very quickly.

Paddles Website: This website carries several lines of videos including Paradox and Sting in the tail. They have a very easy shopping cart system to place your order. Shipping time is a remarkable 10 days or less, given that they are shipping from Austrailia. We have not had any problems ordering from this company.

Paradox: Orders placed with this company are through and online form. Fill in your information, check off the items you want, and off it goes. Shipping time from England to the U.S. is around 2 weeks. We have not experienced any issued in ordering from Paradox.

Raven Hill: Orders with Raven Hill may be placed via an online form or by calling them on the telephone. If using the online form, it features an easy set up with drop down menus to make your selection(s). Shipping time is usually less than a week. We have not experienced any problems in ordering from this company.

Red Hot: All order placed with Red Hot are via their online order form. Shipping time is around a week and we experienced no problems ordering from this company.

Rigid East/Lupus: Orders placed with both Ridid East and Lupus are done via an online form. Currently, Rigid East orders and Lupus orders are placed via 2 seperate forms, so if you want a title from Rigid East and a title from Lupus, you'll have to place 2 orders. Shipping time is usually around 3 weeks, although it may be a little longer right now due to a flood that occured in the area of their office. Other than a slightly long shipping time, we have experienced no problems in ordering from Rigid East or Lupus.

Russian Slaves: You may place your order in several ways. First, is via the online order form, which is pretty basic and simple. The second is a rather unusual method, but you can mail cash, check, or money order to an address and they will activate an online account for you which you can order tapes or any of their website memberships. I think you can also call their toll-free number, but not totally sure if you can place an order with this number. Shipping time is usually within a week or so. No problems were encountered when ordering from this company.

Shadow Lane: Order placed with Shadow Lane may be done in several ways. First, there is the easy to use online catalog with shopping cart. If you are not comfortable placing an order online, Shadow Lane provides a telephone number in which you may call them and an address in which you may mail your order to. Shipping time is usually less than a week. We have not experienced any problems in ordering with Shadow Lane.



HERE ARE SOME ADDED EXPERIENCES FROM READERS:

ADDED 9/22- We are pleased to announce that Mr. G. from California has finally received his order from Raven Hill Studios. No comment from Raven Hill Studios has been issued as of this writing.

ADDED 9/22- I ordered Resolved 4 and 5 from Ravenhill in January .The money was extracted from my account almost immediately but even after numerous phone calls and emails the tapes never arrived. It is a great pity because Ravenhill in my opinion produce some of the best videos in the business but seem to have huge problems in sending them to their customers.

ADDED 9/22- OK, as I wrote before, I ordered one video and was charged for two. I got the video, I had my credit card cancel the overcharge and I thought that was the end of it. Guess what, I came home to find the same video, packaged with another video. And another $90 charged to my credit card. All this trouble from one order. I'm easy. I found they had a new phone number and called it, talked to Richard. I said I would keep one video, it was only $20, and I'd send back the other one that I already had. I asked him to send another one to replace it and to credit my account for the cost difference. I sent the duplicate back to them that day. Now the weeks have gone by, no replacement video, no credit to my account. Soon I will call my credit card company and dispute the $70. And of course that will be the end of my ordering from them. Which is a shame since I have ordered all their videos, 1 or 2 at a time, going back to 1997. But how could anybody trust people with their credit card number when they just take money and don't send anything? By the way, the guy who runs the smaxvideo website says on his site Raven Hill is "ripping everybody off" and he says directly "Do not send money to them." Unfortunately, I must completely agree. Thanks for your website. Feel free to post any of this if you want.

ADDED 9/18- Consumer Report: About five weeks ago, we received a complaint from a Mr. G. from California that he had ordered more than $200.00 worth of videos from Raven Hill Studios but the product never arrived. He also noted that his credit card had been billed promptly. His complaint can be found in the " Features and Articles" section of this page. I contacted Richard Lewis of Raven Hill Studios and made him aware of the complaint that was made regarding his company. I encouraged Mr. Lewis to respond in writing on our page or to contact Mr. G. directly. Neither of these two things occurred. Two weeks ago, I attempted to directly intercede on behalf of our reader. I had Mr. G. send me the list of videos that he had ordered from Raven Hill Studios. Once again I spoke with Mr. Lewis. I gave him Mr. G's home address, email and the list of the missing videos. Last week I contacted Richard Lewis of RHS to inquire about the status of this matter. He refused to discuss it with me claiming that it was an internal office matter. I subsequently contacted Mr. G. to see if RHS had contacted him. He informed me that no one from Raven Hill had contacted him. I contacted Mr. Lewis late last week apprising him that I intended to " go to press" with this information unless Mr. G. was contacted. He was not. As of this writing the matter remains unresolved. We are aware the Raven Hill Studios had lost a key member of their team. The lovely Jennifer had been responsible for filling orders until she left RHS about six weeks ago. It is understandable that there would be some disruption in service. What I find inexplicable is their lack of communication with a disgruntled customer. It had been my hope that this matter would have been resolved in an amicable fashion for all involved. We are not seeking to injure anyone's business. However, that being said one of the missions of this webpage is consumer advocacy. We encourage the team at Raven Hill Studios to contact us, Mr. G. or both and resolve this matter. If a spokes person from Raven Hill Studios would care to respond, we will provide a forum on this page for them to do so.

ADDED 9/2- RHS has just simply ripped me off! They refuse to answer my emails or return my phone messages.I had a little problem with then before, but this is more major involving almost $200 in videos that I ordered in a response to them when they emailed me with a come of a summer sale of videos for $20 per movie. Buyer beware that Raven Hill has poor customer service I was just asking for them to prove that they had mailed my videos by emailing me an invoice, they certainly had no trouble charging my credit card right away.



I am rather amazed to read your "less than a week" time to get RHS videos. I have ordered from them many times. Typically, weeks go by and I either get what I ordered or I end up having to call them. I always eventually got my order one way or the other.

But my last order may be the final one. I ordered from their online form. When I got my credit card bill, it was overcharged as though I had ordered 2 videos instead of 1. I attempted to call them and their phone line gave a fast busy signal 24 hours a day. I sent 2 emails and got no response. Eventually, I had to contact my credit card company and I don't even know for sure the status of this extra charge. Yes they did send the video- it took over 3 weeks, but it was the right one and the receipt was for the right amount. But that doesn't change the overcharge on my credit card.

So, much as I like what they put out, I doubt I will order from them again. One experience like this is enough.

Firstly, I wanted to say I love your site. I visit it often and the new format is excellent. I wanted to send you my experiences with one company in regards to shipping.

Once when ordering from Raven Hill Studios it had been over 2 weeks and I had not received my order. Since I live about an hour and a half away from their office, I didn't think shipping time would be that long. I called and spoke with a RHS representative and she asked what I ordered. I told her which tape it was and she seemed afronted that I had only ordered one. She then took my name and checked my order, which she said would ship sometime the NEXT week. It took about a month to get my video.

Another time I had ordered 5 videos from Raven Hill and they arrived in about two weeks. My name was on the package and I opened it, but the tapes were not what I had ordered. I check the receipt and they were for another person. It had his name, address, and credit card number on the receipt! I called RHS and the person I spoke to said that my order must have been sent to him including my credit card number. I was shocked. They did send me my order, but there was no apology for sending my information and credit card number to a complete stranger.

A reader expressed discontent with Red Hot Video, and Greg offered this response:
Not knowing who made the complaint or what tape he ordered I can't make any direct comment. I encourage the gentlemen in question to contact me directly with the particulars. Most of our orders are shipped within 48 hours of receipt and always within 4 business days.
